About Mindy

I love being in the kitchen!
My mom began teaching my sister and I to cook when we were just young girls. We made many happy memories singing and baking in the kitchen. After church on Sundays, when the house was sparkling clean and the family was home together, we made pie. Mom taught us the art of making a perfectly light and flaky crust, with a beautifully fluted edge. She taught us to make homemade, fresh, delicious pie filling as well. We made peach, strawberry, apple, pumpkin, rhubarb, banana cream and more. My four brothers would pronounce it delicious, and my dad would pay us the ultimate compliment when he would exclaim, “This is really livin!”
On those days, it seemed that all was right with the world.
I guess that is what making a pie still means to me. Life just seems to slow down a little bit, family seems to come a little closer, and for a time, all is right with the world.

I have been making pies since I was a girl, but started Mindy's Pie Pantry in 2006, at the request of friends.

I have been teaching children's cooking camps and classes for the past 5 years. I love teaching children and can hardly wait to see their eyes light up when they learn to create something new. I have 3 wonderful children of my own, and an amazing husband. We have been married for 23 years...wow!
Besides baking, I love camping and fishing, biking, singing, spending time with family, and a beautiful sunrise.
